Parenting of Young Adult

Addressing your own emotional wounds

Why is it needed?

Heal With Your Breath

We weren’t born to experience constant stress and anxiety. But for many of us, that is our reality. Learn how to use your breath to tolerate life’s challenges.

Inner Wellness Parent Program

The Inner Wellness Parent Program is a comprehensive coaching program designed to support parents of young adults as they navigate the challenges and transitions their children face during the transition to adulthood. Whether it’s navigating career choices, emotional ups and downs, mental health challenges, trauma, relationships, or personal development, this program provides parents with the tools, strategies, and support they need to empower their young adults and foster their growth and independence. This program focuses heavily on the growth and inner wellness of the parent.

As a Trauma-informed breathwork practitioner,  I have undergone specialized training to understand the principles of trauma and its effects on the nervous system. I approach breathwork practices with sensitivity and adapt them to meet the unique needs of individuals who have experienced trauma.

By integrating trauma-informed principles such as safety, choice, and empowerment into breathwork sessions, I strive to create a space where participants can engage in the practice at their own pace, honoring their boundaries and fostering a sense of agency. This approach can support individuals in processing and releasing trauma-related stress, promoting relaxation, self-awareness, and emotional well-being.

Program Components

Initial Content

The program begins with an in-depth honest chat to understand the specific needs, concerns, and desires of the parent. I want to deeply understand what is currently happening for all parties. This session allows me to tailor the program to the individual circumstances and challenges faced by the parent and their young adult.

Parents will gain insights into the unique challenges and developmental milestones young adults face as they transition from adolescence to adulthood. I provide education and guidance on topics such as identity development, mental health, this generation, career exploration, and building healthy relationships. This is also where we explore the grief of having youngers, which is something parents often feel but don’t lean into.

Effective communication is key to maintaining a strong and supportive relationship with young adults. Parents will learn practical strategies for open and empathetic communication, active listening, setting boundaries, and resolving conflicts constructively. Learning these skills from a trauma informed lens, a more healed lens can deeply increase the quality of connection in the family.

The program focuses on empowering young adults to take ownership of their lives and make informed decisions. Parents will learn how to foster independence, resilience, and self-reliance in their young adults while providing a supportive and nurturing environment. Our main goal here is to create and sustain an emotionally safe environment. And this starts with the parent’s nervous system.

From academic and career choices to mental health and personal growth, parents will gain strategies for supporting their young adults through various challenges and transitions. I provide guidance on how to recognize signs of struggle, offer support, and connect young adults with resources when needed.

Parenting olders can be emotionally demanding. Parents will learn the importance of self-care and strategies for managing stress, maintaining balance, and prioritizing their own well-being while supporting their young adults. Our nervous system is contagious to our children. We must heal and grow in order to show up as our best parent selves. We learn to embody our own healing. We will explore your activations and triggers.

Throughout the program, parents will set desires for themselves and their young adults, with support and accountability. Together, they will create actionable plans and milestones to track progress and celebrate wins. We celebrate the connections and safety created, however big or small.

My program includes regular coaching sessions, check-ins, and email support to provide ongoing guidance, encouragement, and problem-solving as parents navigate the complexities of parenting young adults. Also included is an invitation to any Breathwork class I offer.

What to expect

By the end of the program, parents will feel more confident, empowered, and equipped with the knowledge and skills to support their young adults through the transitions of early adulthood. Their connections will be deeper, more supportive, and authentic with their emerging adults. They will also have a deeper understanding of their role as parents and the importance of fostering independence, resilience, and healthy communication in their relationships with their young adults. Finally, parents will have a clearer understanding of how their inner wellness, mental health, old wounds, and past conditioning  impact their families lives.
